I don't recall having such flare ups. However there were years when I wondered if I'd ever recover, because the strain didn't seem to reduce. Chronic strain just takes its time to reduce (provided you don't provoke more strain, which would be like poking a wound constantly, and not allowing it to heal). I'm quite sure you'll find a doctor in your network if you ask around a lot. I've never needed to stop driving and close my eyes (I've never needed to drive for more than an hour). While driving or riding a bike, the eyes will be a bit more relaxed. Of course, in your case things might be different/complex due to astigmatism. Sorry I couldn't help with regard to that. Maybe some day you could figure out the solution and write an article on it to help others. Just make sure you don't jump into conclusions. Every experiment tried must be meticulously checked and verified. Having a doctor's opinion before trying something is also important. There are many more people suffering like us. And a lot of people getting the wrong advice and made to buy things with the false promise that it'll help them recover. I hope my article helps them too. Also, do see my article about the stomach test. It'll help avoid foods that cause sleep loss. I will be busy tomorrow, so may not be able to reply promptly if you have anything else to share. I like that you thought out-of-the-box and suggested resting at 10 minute intervals. I dearly wish that you recover soon. Take care.
