A Docker container with Ubuntu 20.04 didn't run properly on a host EC2 instance that had Ubuntu 22.04. I think it was NGINX or some associated libraries that didn't work because of the host OS being different. So yes, even I've been surprised that Docker didn't serve its purpose. Moreover, an app running on the host EC2 could handle 25% more load than the same app inside a Docker container.
